HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate for this position will report to the designated department chair. The administrative specialists will be responsible for performing administrative duties by coordinating the daily operations of the Department of COAS-Dean's Office.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Specialist, Administrative are the following:

Provides administrative support to the department chair and other departmental administrators.
Routes and tracks tasks to administrative and academic services teams.
Schedules for department classroom and meeting spaces.
Assists with student engagement events.
Coordinates student awards and scholarships within the department.
Supports the department's internal control policies and procedures.
Supports the social media campaign.
Supports department practicum/internship coordination.
Supports data collection for the department.
Supports department student organizations.
Assists the department's Director of Graduate Studies with graduate research and teaching appointments.
Assists with the planning of meetings, conferences, and events.
Supervises student assistants.
Assists with the department seminar program.
Attends regular college-wide meetings.
Coordinates faculty candidates by setting up interview schedules.
Arranges for periodic secure shredding of sensitive documents.
Assists the program directors in completing the annual ACS report.
Maintains and updates the department list of faculty and staff.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and two years administrative experience, or a high school diploma/GED and six years administrative experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
