Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) is seeking a skilled and diverse professional Project Manager, IT, to join our vibrant and growing team. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Project Management Office, this position acts as a Project Manager for several small to medium-sized projects in the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure IT programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL DO

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

· Plan, develop, and manage strategic technology initiatives utilizing project management concepts and technical tools, including implementation of effective scheduling, tracking and problem management and the transition of projects to the appropriate operational area within Information Technology.

· Routinely track plans and schedules, identify and resolve critical path and conflicts, and facilitate communication across project teams; develop weekly project reports on status and issues related to on-going projects, which includes time reporting and status reporting to management of work completed each week

· Develop cross-functional and integrated project plans

· Development of all deliverables within the project management process

· Provide status reports or assist with status report preparation for large-scale IT projects

· Work with departments on select initiatives to prepare them for consideration by management. This includes any preplanning work to clearly define the scope of the project to be proposed and/or formatting the project for including in the portfolio management and tracking system

· Management of project scope

· Maintenance of project documentation

· Identify and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact critical project deliverables

· Ensure project team adheres to PMO best practices while using sound reasoning to know when to be flexible

Qualifications:
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Formal Project Management Training, PMP or CAMP certification a PLUS

· Experience preparing and giving presentations

· Experience working in the Project Management Office a PLUS

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint)

· Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams
