About the Department
LAS is a translational research lab focused on the development of new analytic technology and analysis tradecraft. The new technologies will help us understand the underlying scientific principles and analytics required to meet the complex and dynamic challenges presented by “Big Data.” The new tradecraft will help us discover, understand, and enhance critical aspects of intelligence analysis. These new technologies and tradecraft will be brought together through the development of user experiences that allow engagement with the data, tools, and techniques to achieve mission outcomes.
Essential Job Duties
The LAS Business Services Coordinator will perform a variety of financial and administrative duties in support of the Laboratory for Analytic Science (LAS).

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Is the first point-of-contact for financial and administrative inquiries from LAS performers and employees across the University and government
Monitors spending and balances on multiple fund-types, including sponsored research, state, and trust funds. Ensures fund availability before processing and approving spend requests.
Initiates and processes other financial transactions such as reconciling p-card statements, processing reimbursements for workshop speakers, and processing other
Serves as the Travel Coordinator for LAS; initiates travel reimbursements, monitors compliance with federal and NCSU regulations
Manages the HelloSign process for Other Direct Costs (ODCs); enters vouchers and requisitions for ODCs for LAS staff and performers
Responsible for administering, processing and monitoring procurement card purchases
Manages the hiring process for all LAS no-pay and temporary employees. Reviews requests, drafts offer letters, and on-boards all employees.
Coordinates LAS workshops and seminars; manages attendee lists, orders refreshments, and coordinates other logistics for events.
Attends LAS meetings, records and distributes meeting minutes.
Independently composes correspondence to faculty, government, university and industry contacts.
Provides general office support for LAS employees and performers, including ordering and maintaining supplies, scheduling rooms and setting up WebEx meetings.
Coordinate visits from external government stakeholders to include developing agendas and the associated logistics
Provides website updates and maintenance, manages distribution lists and website access
Responsible for working with LAS leadership to create monthly newsletter and other communications
Participates in various projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
Knowledge of Google Mail, Calendar, Drive and other Google Applications (or similar)
Efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Strong interpersonal, computer, and organizational skills
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with a focus on providing outstanding customer service
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others
High degree of discretion in dealing with sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Prefer candidates who currently hold an active security clearance.
3 years experience in a professional or academic environment
3 years experience as an integral member of a support team
Experience with other cloud-based, file-sharing products is desirable
