About the Department
CVM IT is poised to meet the diverse, continually changing information technology needs for the College of Veterinary Medicine. This includes all faculty, staff, students, researchers, administration, and Veterinary Hospital clinicians and staff. CVM IT will continue to drive the successful integration of new and innovative computing technologies at the college, support existing technologies, as well as protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CVM IT assets and data.
Essential Job Duties
The IT Support Analyst in the College of Veterinary Medicine holds a key role in providing top-notch technical and application support to faculty, staff, and students. They act as the main contact for addressing a wide range of technical issues, spanning from hardware and software problems to network connectivity issues. This demands a comprehensive grasp of the various technologies used within the college, as well as the capacity to convey complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.

As a role that involves interacting directly with stakeholders, the IT Support Analyst engages through in-person interactions, phone calls, emails, and remote support sessions, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy to ensure a positive support experience.

Furthermore, the role extends beyond technical support to include proficient project management skills. This might entail overseeing the implementation of new systems, upgrading existing infrastructure, or managing software deployments while adhering to timelines and budgets. Additionally, the IT Support Analyst supervises and coordinates tasks with student workers, offering guidance, training, and supervision to ensure smooth operations and compliance with established protocols.

Reporting to the IT Client Support Manager, this position necessitates a diverse skill set, including technical expertise, project management proficiency, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to effectively manage and mentor student workers.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Ability to utilize System Configuration tools such as SCCM and JAMF to support the desktop environment.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders (clients, IT service partners, vendors, users, etc.).
Experience w/ A/V classroom support.
Preferred Qualifications
A support professional who is passionate about customer service, is mission-driven, and has strong experience troubleshooting, configuring and maintaining desktops, monitors, periphery devices and other hardware using windows or Mac OS.
Preference will be given to an individual who possess strong Mac OS trouble shooting skills, has experience working with Jamf Pro, and/or possess a Jamf Certified Associate – Jamf Pro certification.
