ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing marketing strategies to promote products or services. They conduct market research, analyze customer behavior, and identify target audiences. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns, including content creation, social media management, email marketing, and advertising. A Marketing Specialist monitors campaign performance, tracks metrics, and provides reports to evaluate effectiveness. They stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to optimize marketing efforts and drive business growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares written communications for news releases, websites, marketing collateral, and newsletter articles. Edits and revises reports and publications.

Assists in the production of print, online, or other forms of advertisement, and assists with special events or promotions. Assists with website content updates, developing web imagery, and maintaining websites. Collects data measuring the viability of new markets and assists in the creation of market development plans.

Creates quality-designed event collateral, meeting and planning documents, promotional items, web graphics, presentation slides, and other various print and digital materials.

Assists with developing multi-channel marketing and media strategies for special projects. Supports other print and media communication projects for the unit as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge of AP writing style. Skilled in Adobe graphic design programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Basic skills in Microsoft programs/platforms (Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams). Organized with the ability to prioritize projects.
