Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the position of Academic Advisor for the Edwards College Advising Center.



Academic Advisors are responsible for the planning and delivery of academic advising programs and services. Responsible for maintaining regular contact with students to provide accurate, timely information on academic majors, University policies and regulations, and support services available to students. Responsible for understanding and interpreting the requirements and academic options in specific assigned areas and for knowing basic information about other academic areas to facilitate the student’s pursuit of fields of interest.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61122945/PCLS 202400353), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Duties
Duties include, but not limited to:

Provide students with information focused on meeting developmental academic needs, including transition to the college environment, exploration of various major fields of study, career options, available resources, and university policies.
Assist students with the course planning and registration process; keep accurate records of student advising contacts and progress toward a degree.
Process student requests and forms in a timely manner; audit student records each semester to ensure appropriate course selection and progress; provide final audits for graduating seniors.
Engage in departmental committees and professional development.
Teaches one class per academic year or fulfills the equivalent "teaching" responsibility through tutoring, conducting study sessions, or providing workshops for faculty advisors and/or students.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: A master’s degree and related experience are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in higher education or teaching experience is preferred.
