We are looking for a professional and proactive individual to lead the operational and financial management of the Leeds Cancer Centre. The Leeds Cancer Centre is the multi-disciplinary cross faculty initiative that co-ordinates and develops cancer research across the University and NHS Trust to tackle major challenges that confront our cancer patients
As Centre Manager you will manage the day to day operations of the Centre, taking responsibility for centre governance, coordinating the Centre Action Plan and leading on Centre marketing and communications, supporting the Directors to, develop and maintain partnerships and networks within the University and externally to translate the Centre’s vision into practice and to build the Centre’s reputation and impact.
As Centre Manager, you will have significant stakeholder engagement and project management experience, reasoning and analytical skills and managerial experience. Administrative experience is essential, with the skills and ability to develop and implement new processes. You will also possess communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the University and credibly engage with a range of stakeholders to promote the Centre’s vision and activities.
You will work closely with the Centre’s Research and Innovation Development Manager who takes responsibility for the Centre’s strategic research funding and business development activities. You be supported in your role by a Centre Administrator, who you will line manage. Your role will require substantive management, engagement, reporting and administrative functions, as well as public engagement and outreach commitments. The role will necessitate engagement with a wide range of stakeholders across and beyond the University of Leeds, including senior University management, senior academics and early career researchers, industrial partners, marketing and communications staff, facility managers and technical officers, research and innovation professionals, and professional support staff.
