Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service in mathematics with emphasis on mathematics education. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine-month appointment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics and mathematics education courses; conducting research in mathematics education; and service to the university, K-12 schools, and school districts in the Central Arkansas region. Regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, some of which can be for supervising interns. In addition, reassigned time for research is possible.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to and proven ability in undergraduate teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have K-12 classroom teaching experience.

Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education of a doctorate or terminal degree required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
A PhD or EdD in mathematics education and K-12 classroom experience.
License(s)/Certifications (Required or Preferred)
K-12 classroom teaching license is preferred but not required.
