College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provide more than 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to approximately 575 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
This incumbent will be responsible for developing in collaboration with the Neurostimulation Director and Department Administrator, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the quality improvement initiatives within the Interventional Psychiatry program. This role supports clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational effectiveness across behavioral health services, including treatments such as TMS, ECT, esketamine therapy (Spravato), and other emerging interventional psychiatric interventions. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure adherence to organizational, state, and federal, and accreditation standards. This will include ensuring training program adherence, scheduling patients and trainees for appropriate rotations, and ensuring supervision is maintained as directed.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for department grand rounds coordination and event planning. This includes scheduling; educational content oversight, including gap analysis; communication and marketing; data collection; and critical decision-making for prioritizing educational topics, accreditation standards, participant feedback, CME activities, programming, and special presentations.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Quality Improvement/Performance Management/Program Development
Design, implement, and manage quality improvement programs and performance improvement projects.
Collect, analyze, and report clinical, operational, and patient experience data.
Monitor quality metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and treatment outcomes.
Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
Develop action plans to address identified quality and patient safety concerns.
Support strategic initiatives related to the expansion and optimization of interventional psychiatry services.
Participate in workflow redesign and process improvement efforts.
Evaluate new technologies, interventions, and best practices to enhance service quality.
Schedule patients within the Interventional services and follow patient outcomes.
Grand Rounds Coordinator
Program Planning and Coordination: Develop and maintain the annual Grand Rounds schedule. Coordinate educational topics aligned with organizational priorities, quality initiatives, and emerging clinical practices.
Identify and recruit internal and external speakers, subject matter experts, and thought leaders. Schedule presentations, reserve meeting space, and coordinate virtual platforms. Manage event logistics from planning through post-event evaluation.
Speaker Management: Serve as the primary liaison for invited presenters. Coordinate speaker agreements, honoraria, travel, and accommodations if applicable. Collect biographies, presentation materials, learning objectives, and disclosure forms. Ensure presentations meet educational and accreditation requirements. Provide presenters with audience demographics and program expectations.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Administration: Coordinate CME/CE accreditation requirements. Ensure compliance with ACCME, nursing, psychology, or other applicable continuing education standards.
Maintain documentation required for accreditation audits. Process attendance records and educational credits. Track participant completion and evaluations.
Educational Content Oversight: Review proposed topics for relevance, evidence-based content, and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with medical leadership to identify educational gaps and priorities. Support development of learning objectives and outcome measures.
Event Operations: Coordinate audiovisual equipment, webinar technology, and presentation materials. Manage registration and attendance tracking. Facilitate event setup and execution.
Troubleshoot technical issues during presentations. Ensure seamless virtual, hybrid, or in-person delivery.
Communication and Marketing: Create and distribute Grand Rounds announcements and promotional materials. Maintain educational calendars and event schedules. Promote participation among physicians, healthcare providers, trainees, and staff. Coordinate communications through email, intranet, newsletters, and other channels.
Data Collection and Evaluation: Collect participant evaluations and feedback. Analyze attendance, satisfaction, and educational effectiveness metrics. Prepare reports for medical education committees and leadership. Identify opportunities for program improvement. Monitor trends in participation and topic effectiveness.
Compliance and Record Management: Maintain accurate educational records and attendance documentation. Ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Retain files related to speaker disclosures, evaluations, and CME documentation.
Support accreditation reviews and audits.
Research & Hosp Discharge
The Patient Flow & Research Integration Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the Behavioral Health (BH) Clinic and affiliated research groups. This role is responsible for optimizing patient flow, improving communication across clinical and research teams, identifying eligible research participants, and ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and research activities. The position supports operational excellence while enhancing patient experience, regulatory compliance, and research enrollment objectives.

Patient Safety & Risk Management
Partner with clinical leadership to promote a culture of safety.
Monitor incident reports, adverse events, and near misses.
Facilitate investigations and recommend process improvements to reduce risk.
Support implementation of patient safety initiatives and best practices.
Education & Collaboration
Educate staff on quality improvement methodologies, regulatory standards, and performance expectations.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, technicians, and administrative staff to implement improvement initiatives.
Facilitate quality meetings, workgroups, and interdisciplinary committees.
Assist in developing policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in health sciences, business, healthcare administration, or health information management and at least one year experience performing quality management functions, such as data analysis, data display, leading improvement projects and teams, and the PDSA improvement projects and teams, and PDSA improvement process.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Healthcare work experience in quality improvement, systems design, or project management.
4 years' administrative experience in a hospital or clinic setting.
