About Us
The Mike Wiegers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as one of the eight departments within the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, has 19 faculty members and approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students. The department is located in the new Engineering Hall equipped with the state-of-the-art research laboratories, classrooms, and office spaces. The department has strong research programs in power systems, power electronics, wireless communications, network engineering, and biomedical engineering. What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. The degree requirement ensures candidates possess the quantitative expertise, statistical methodologies and technical proficiency necessary to manage complex datasets, perform advanced analyses and generate insights that inform organizational strategies and external reporting. These competencies are typically developed and rigorously validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and intensive experiential experience inherent in a formal degree program.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience with Python programming.
Experience with SQL and data analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience with large language models (LLMs) or generative AI tools.
Experience with Pandas, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
Experience with Git or collaborative software development.
Interest in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or power systems.
Experience developing AI-assisted applications or workflow automation.
