Job Summary
Head Coach for the AU Cheer Team. This position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cheer team, including organizing and leading practices, developing and teaching choreography, coordinating fundraising efforts, and fostering community engagement. The Head Coach will also be expected to mentor student athletes, promote team unity, and ensure the team represents Augusta University positively at events and performances.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
TEAM MANAGEMENT: Directing all phases of the cheer Team program, including coaching at practices and games, recruiting qualified student athletes, coordination of community appearance, and monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.
BUDGET: Manage the cheerleading program's budget, including allocating funds for equipment, and uniforms.
EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of cheerleading equipment and uniforms.
COMPLIANCE: Know, Recognize, and Comply with the Laws, Rules, and Regulations Governing AU, its employees, and the Rules of NCAA and affiliated Conferences.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned and assisting with game management at home athletic contests.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least one year of experience in coaching cheer at the collegiate level. CPR certification must be completed within two months of hire. AACCA (American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors) Certified. Valid state driver's license required.

Coordination, training, and supervision of the cheerleading team activities on campus and in the community on behalf of Athletics

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday with some weekend work required.
This is a Part-Time Non-Benefits eligible position - .49 FTE (19.6 hours per week)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Credit Check

Driver's License Statement
The Human Resources Division will request a driver's history report for the identified top candidate(s) for this position. We will initiate this through our Background Check Vendor; this report will come from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license.
