This position provides comprehensive office organization and support for the administration and academic functions of the College of Health.
The College of Health Dean's Office at Ball State University is seeking a motivated and organized Administrative Assistant. This role is crucial in providing office organization and support for the administration and academic functions of the College of Health. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant to the Dean & Office Manager, students, and the College leadership team.
Job Function:
This position provides comprehensive office organization and support for the administration and academic functions of the College of Health.
Minimum Education:
Eighteen months of education or training beyond high school or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
Associate degree in business administration or similar field.
Minimum Experience:
At least one year of related experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Perform general office functions, manage and maintain calendars, arrange conferences, and develop relationships with faculty and staff. Exhibit strong customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Reception Services:* Manage reception services, greet and direct guests, assist students, faculty, and staff, and handle incoming calls and emails.
- Event Planning: Assist with planning and executing activities related to commencement and other public events for the Student Success Center and College.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Student Success Initiatives: Assist with college-wide and university student success initiatives, including registration events and commencements. Maintain an accurate calendar of events and schedules for the Student Success Center.
- Office Maintenance: To support daily office functions, order supplies, assist with travel arrangements and room reservations, and schedule meetings.
- Assist the Assistant to the Dean and Office Manager with duties as assigned and perform other related duties.
- Support to the Dean: In the absence of the Assistant to the Dean and Office Manager, assist the Dean with requests.
- Assist and review work and/or orient and train student workers.
