What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a highly motivated Tactical Planner to plan, schedule, estimate and order materials for construction projects. The Construction Services team provides project like work to all areas of the lab. Knowledge of facilities, construction and project execution are crucial in this role.On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Review construction plans with the designers.
- Scope construction projects and provide a detailed schedule and estimate.
- Track progress of construction activities, report progress to key stakeholders and work with designers to coordinate any issues in the field.
- Coordinate with ES&H personnel to ensure all work is scoped for environmental and safety impacts and ensure potential risks are mitigated.
- Understand all pertinent building/facility systems to ensure they will meet customer needs and expectations.
- Integrate customer requests, site constraints, and regulatory compliance requirements in the formulation of customer recommendations.
- Attend scheduled weekend outages.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$70,200 - $135,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- High-school diploma and 13 years of exempt level, relevant experience in a construction related trade (electrical, mechanical, structural, fire protection, etc); or an Associate's degree in a relevant field plus nine (9) years of previously mentioned relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field related to construction, plus five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Experience in construction with strong background in leading architectural, civil or structural projects (ACS)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- OSHA 10 Certification or higher
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with facilities IT applications, such as Maximo and Excel.
- Experience with work planning and control.
- Understanding of facilities processes and procedures.
- Experience with building material take off lists.
- Completion of an Apprenticeship program.
- Construction Foreman/Superintendent experience.
About Our Team:
The Construction Service Team provides a more agile option to performing construction work at Sandia. Our in-house construction capabilities provide general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing expertise. We are a new team and are starting with small projects and as the capability builds, we will increase the complexity of the work. In addition, we provide expedited and rapid turnaround support for low complexity facilities construction projects and facilities services.
