Job Description

The Department of Chemistry is seeking a full-time non-tenure-line faculty member for undergraduate-level courses in general chemistry and/or laboratories in courses in in areas of specialty.
The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Chemistry, the College of Sciences and Humanities, Ball State University and the surrounding community.

We are a department that has a long history of focusing our efforts on giving our undergraduate and graduate students a high-quality learning experience in both the classroom and the laboratory settings. We incorporate problem-solving sessions into many courses, have faculty supervision in all laboratories, encourage cooperative learning, and provide numerous opportunities, both formal and informal, for students to interact with faculty. We take great pride in our faculty-student interactions.

Job Function:

The Department of Chemistry is seeking a full-time non-tenure-line faculty member for undergraduate-level courses in general chemistry and/or laboratories in courses in in areas of specialty.
The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Chemistry, the College of Sciences and Humanities, Ball State University and the surrounding community.

Minimum Experience:

Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related area from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
Rank: Assistant Lecturer with MA.

Preferred Experience:

Preferred qualifications of an earned doctorate in chemistry, biochemistry, or related area from an accredited institution and teaching experience at the collegiate level (e.g. teaching assistant, instructor).
Rank/title: Assistant Teaching Professor with terminal degree.
