The Data Management Analyst plays a critical role in managing Elon University’s data assets. You’ll gather data from various sources while ensuring data accuracy and consistency. This position is responsible for managing and enhancing the quality, value, and security of organizational data. Uncovering insights from complex data sets and helping drive informed decision-making across the organization are the objectives. The ideal candidate for the Data Management Analyst position combines technical proficiency in data analysis with expertise in data governance. Minimum Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as data science, information management, or computer science) and minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience. Additionally, to be successful in this position candidates should have proven experience in data analysis and understanding of data governance, along with familiarity in data quality, SQL, and data visualization tools.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's degree in Data Management or a related field.

• Ability to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
• Experience implementing data governance and best practices to ensure data quality.
• Proactive in identifying and addressing data-related issues.
Job Duties
Data Governance:
Work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and business teams to uphold data standards and adherence to data policies.
Develop and update documentation that outlines data definitions, lineage, and relationships.
Educate end-users on data governance policies and advocate for data governance practices across the organization.
Work with data stewards to set measurable objectives for data governance effectiveness.
Data Quality:
Establish and enforce data quality standards, including accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Proactively identify and address issues related to data quality, security, and compliance.
Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and errors in data through comprehensive assessments.
Coordination and Promotion
Coordinate with data stewards to maintain accurate classification and labeling of data to ensure easy access, while utilizing tools to catalog all organizational data assets comprehensively.
Continuously learn about data management best practices and emerging technologies.
Stay informed about regulations like GDPR and CCPA and help ensure organizational compliance.
