Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst II to join our dynamic Payroll team. The Payroll Analyst II role is crucial for managing various pay cycles and ensuring accurate payroll processing. This role ensures timely and accurate payroll operations and compliance with labor laws and regulations. The Payroll Analyst II will also provide support to employees regarding payroll and some benefit inquiries and will work closely with the HR department to ensure seamless processes to resolve payroll-related issues. Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency of our payroll systems and enhance employee satisfaction.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
This job requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or business and at least 3 years of experience in higher education.
Job Duties
Payroll Processing
Process payroll for multiple pay cycles (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.), ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Participate in cross-training initiatives to gain proficiency in different pay cycles, enhancing overall payroll operations and team flexibility.
Work closely with the HR Benefits Specialist to reconcile payroll and benefits data, ensuring accurate deductions and contributions for all employees.
Maintain accurate employee records within the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes to compensation or benefits.
Generate and analyze payroll reports, identifying trends and discrepancies to inform decision-making and improve processes.
Ensure adherence to payroll regulations and internal policies; assist with audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, providing clear and timely information to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate on payroll system enhancements and upgrades, working with IT and external vendors to improve processes and functionality.
Assist in training faculty and staff members on payroll processes and best practices, promoting a knowledgeable and skilled workforce.
Assist in presenting at new hire orientation on time tracking and leave time off for bi-weekly and monthly employees.
Stipends
Coordinates and pays stipends related to moving allowance, hiring incentives, and bonuses for all salaried employees
Retirement contributions
Runs reports to ensure that salaried employees aren’t over the mandatory retirement limits (manual process as the payroll system does not have limiting (ongoing). Research and updates in ERP annually.
Coordinates with on campus and HR to communicate any changes related to pay and benefits.
Coordinates, checks and uploads all staff increases in June and uploads all faculty increases in August and September into the payroll system.
