Job Summary

This position will report to the Dean of the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. The candidate will work independently, with general direction from the School's senior leadership. This person will interface with departments throughout the University including research and DSPA.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: Pre-Award Preparation: Will assist faculty and staff in the preparation and review of SCCS grant funded proposals, including participation in proposal planning meetings, maintaining and distributing agency information, while ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and procedures.
Review grant proposal applications guidelines and individual funding announcement guidelines. Meet with faculty to develop grant submission checklists and timelines. Format and upload documents into applications. Assists PI in preparing grant applications for review by DSPA Grant Officer and submission to grantor. Assists in creating sub-award applications into and from Augusta University. Enter appropriate data into grant applications systems and electronic routing into eSproute. Assist with letter of intent, grant reporting requirements and submissions.
Works with the Business Manager to prepare budgets and write budget justifications for proposals.
Post Award Support: Serves as primary contact with post award on grant related matters. Assist with grant reporting requirements and submissions. Assist with IRB and IBC submission as needed.
Works closely with the Business Manager to assist with preparation of budget amendments, authorizations to budget, cost transfers, no cost extension forms and grant routing forms, BCM errors, and ePARS as needed. Approves grant expenditures according to direct charging policy; reconcile accounts on a monthly basis and takes appropriate action to correct any errors. Prepares and maintains documentation related to cost transfers, requests for expenditures, budget revisions, and fund statements. Ensures payments for invoices, check requests, as well as deposits, are applied correctly in the financial system and reflected in financial reports. Processes requisitions for grant purchases and works with the p-card holder for the department for additional purchases. Works closely with the Department Administrator to ensure personnel actions are submitted in a timely manner; reviews effort monthly via the pre-payroll report and indicates corrections needed. Works in the Effort Reporting System to ensure cost sharing is applied to the grant/s and that faculty and staff certify their effort.
Other Duties - Perform all other related duties as assigned assigned to include but not limited to: Dean's Office and general SCCS support.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or related field with two years of experience in business, finance, accounting or other related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or related field of study with a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in administrative support. Thorough knowledge of AU polices is preferred. Experience in federal, state and foundation research application preparation, post award maintenance preferred. Five years progressively responsible experience in administrative support. Experience in a research area/department, accounting field, or sponsored program administration. PeopleSoft Financials experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGEProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases. SKILLSExcellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills. ABILITIESAbility to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days: Monday - Friday (Work outside of the normal business hours may be required.)
Pay Band: B9Salary Minimum: $48,800 annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
