College/Department Information
The Graduate School (TGS) aims to provide a rich intellectual, academic and research environment for educating students to become leaders in the discovery, dissemination, and application of knowledge. To help facilitate this, our graduate faculty members are selected based on experience in research, scholarship, and education. They are drawn from the faculties of Augusta University's College of Allied Health Sciences, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Hull College of Business, Dental College of Georgia, College of Education, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Nursing, School of Computer & Cyber Sciences and the Medical College of Georgia. Class sizes are small, and the faculty excels in cultivating and modeling supportive, collegial and professional relationships with students. With outstanding programs in Allied Health, Biological and Computational Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, Bimolecular Science, Biostatistics, Business, Computer and Cyber Science, Education, Intelligence and Security Studies, Medical Illustration, Nursing, and Public Administration- earning a graduate degree from Augusta University is time well spent!
Job Summary
Under general supervision, provides responsible administrative and secretarial support for a department or office, often of a complex and confidential nature, generally in support of a department chair or equivalent level administrator.
Responsibilities
The duties included but are not limited to:
DIRECT SUPPORT TO TGS DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND SUCCESS: Coordinate logistics (room reservations, food orders, set up, etc) for events such as workshops, seminars, and professional development activities for students and postdocs. Promote events to students and postdocs through email announcements. Assist in providing guidance on available resources and services to support student success. Assist in the development and distribution of informational materials and resources. Maintain accurate records of student and postdoc participation in professional development and engagement events and activities. Compile data for analyzation of the effectiveness of student and postdoc programs. Prepare reports and presentations based on collected data. Draft and send communications to students and postdocs regarding upcoming events and opportunities. Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, or in-person. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive communication strategies.
DIRECT SUPPORT FOR TGS FACULTY MENTORING ACADEMY: Manage logistics for mentoring sessions, meetings, and workshops associated with the faculty mentoring academy - room reservations, set up, food orders, materials preparation, communications, etc. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other supporting documents. Maintain records of academy participants, mentoring activities and outcomes. Manage and update the AU Faculty Mentoring Academy's resource library. Ensure that faculty members have access to necessary materials and information. Coordinate the compilation and distribution of mentoring guides and handbooks. Gather feedback from participants to improve future events and processes. Facilitate communication and collaboration to enhance mentoring programs.
GRADUATE SCHOOL SUPPORT: Serve as initial point of contact for students seeking information or assistance in the Graduate School and direct to appropriate staff member for assistance - answering phones, directing guests, etc. Assist with planning, set-up, and coordination for Graduate School events, as needed - Welcome Back Reception, Swing into Spring, Graduate Research Day, Scientific Integrity Ceremony, etc.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions
OR
High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.
Preferred Qualifications
Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a professional work environment. Ability to manage multiple projects while supervising student employees, answering phone and business process.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Pay Band: B2
Salary: Minimum $15.77/hr - Midpoint $18.89/hr
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
