College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

This position responsibility will be performed under the supervision of the Section Chief of the Children's Hospital of Georgia Emergency Department, Department Administrator, Administrative Services Director or Office Manager. This position supervises the Residency Program Specialist and manages and oversees the administrative support functions for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, EMS Fellowship, Ultrasound Fellowship, International Medicine Fellowship and Wilderness Medicine Fellowship. This position supports six fellowship directors, 10-15 fellows and performs a variety of administrative duties, including planning, budgeting, providing oversight to selection of program participants, and monitoring of participant progress.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manages the development, planning, and coordination of five fellowships: Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, EMS Fellowship, Ultrasound Fellowship, International Medicine Fellowship and Wilderness Medicine Fellowship.
Develops, organizes, and directs recruitment activities such as identifying eligible participants, extensive and overnight travel for interviewing/recruitment and educational trips, counsels participants on financial aid/loan deferral opportunities.
Administers and manages the policy implementation of all rules, regulations, and prescripts regulating educational programs. Reviews participants requirements such as, credentialing, licensure, FMG, and visa.
Ensures program accreditation with regard to compliance of potential participants with the criteria of corresponding organizations such as American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Residency Review Committee (RRC), Graduate Medical Education (GME), and HIPPA.
Develops program management systems to include curriculum and lecture scheduling. Develop, coordinate and plan annual educational program participant orientation, graduation, and extracurricular activities.
Supervises the Residency Program Specialist.
Manage coordination and authorization of educational program budgets and expenditures to include recruitment, coordination with Graduate Medical Education (GME), and coordination with other corresponding accounts such as RI, PPG, Foundation, P-card, etc. Reconcile all accounts and expenditures.
Manages evaluation system to include participant evaluation and grade reporting. Coordinates participant file maintenance. Monitors and counsels program participants when needed. Oversees administration of educational exams. Maintain informational database system for various reporting purposes and curriculum inventory.
Provide Administrative support to the Section Chief of the Children's Hospital of Georgia Emergency Department, 11 additional faculty, and 10-15 fellows. Maintains support for clinical sections and educational programs.
Coordinate and manage all Pediatric Emergency Medicine conferences and courses including PALS and EMS-C day.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years Professional or Administrative experience to include minimum of 2 years of Educational Program experience or similar experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years Professional or Administrative experience to include minimum of 4 years of educational program experience or similar experience OR High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and 10 years Professional or Administrative experience to include minimum of 6 years of educational program experience or similar experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Ability to learn PeopleSoft, multi-task, and work independently. Excellent customer service and phone etiquette, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Pay Band: 9
Salary: Minimum $23.46/hour - $26.14/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
