Job Summary
HR Coordinator works directly with the HR Specialist in the Student Employment Center of Human Resources. Processes employment and other job- related transactions for all types of student employees; receives and reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy; enters data into OneUSG Connect database according to proper procedures. Clears all student employees who are leaving AU according to exit procedures. Enters/reviews all employee and job data in PeopleSoft.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
DATA MANAGEMENT: Processes and enters/reviews data in PeopleSoft for all student employee new hires, terminations, salary changes, and transfers in a timely and accurate manner according to the published payroll schedule. Reviews own data entry for accuracy. Reviews pre-payroll queries to ensure all data is accurate prior to pay run.
ADMINISTRATIVE: Receives and reviews for accuracy and completeness all electronic personnel action requests and audits corresponding employment documents for student employees; processes accordingly. Completes AU clearance process for all terminating student employees. Scan/Drag drop all backup documentation and transactional information for student employees into the students personnel record in ApplicationXtender.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provides highest level of customer service to campus employees, department managers, retirees, and other AU business units as necessary to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee data. This will include coordination with OneUSG Connect - Benefits. Assists walk-in customers with inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
OTHER DUTIES: Serve as backup for the HR Specialist in the Student Employment Center section of Human Resources. Performs all other job-related clerical functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with two years of HR experience working with an integrated database system.
OR
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization and three years of HR experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of HR experience. Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS. Experience working in Higher Education and/or working with non-US citizens.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of basic HR business processes; AU specific business processes; employment processing and benefit procedures.
SKILLS
Skilled with basic data entry; PeopleSoft HRMS specific data entry; Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to work with employees from all levels of the organization and to function well under tight deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Pay Band: B6
Salary Minimum: $18.85
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
