College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

The Research Associate in the Educational Innovation Institute of MCG supports the vision and mission of the EII which align with the strategic academic mission of MCG. The RA does this by assisting with the research and other work of the EII faculty which consists of the creation and distribution of outstanding scholarship and the training of faculty and staff in the scholarship of medical education. This position is vital to the productivity and success of the EII faculty researcher and the EII itself.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- In collaboration with EII researchers, help manage (and contribute where possible) educational and other social science research projects relevant to medical education as assigned including such tasks as literature searches and reviews, study design, data collection and analysis (interviews, focus group, surveys, etc.), report writing, distribution of results through conference presentations and journal articles and tracking of budget funds.
- Manage the IRB application and reporting process for the various research projects undertaken by the EII.
- In collaboration with EII researchers, help manage (and contribute where possible) educational and other social science research grant proposals relevant to medical education including literature reviews, study design, and budget preparation.
- Coordinate EII hosted conferences and medical education research development programs.
- Participate in staff development sessions related to job performance offered through AU and/or MCG.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science or social science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science or social science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 8
Salary Minimum $45,400/Annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
