Summary
The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine seeks an exceptional candidate for a full-time faculty position as a surgeon in the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at an academic rank (Assistant or Associate) commensurate with experience. The selected candidate will join a busy team of Acute Care Surgeons who provide service at our affiliate hospitals. The candidate must have Surgical Critical Care fellowship training. The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated clinical interest in innovative treatment of complex hernia and abdominal wall repair.
Faculty at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery are committed to excellence in surgical care, education, and research. Ideally situated in the heart of the world's largest medical center, the 150 members of the Department practice in the Texas Medical Center at iconic institutions, including BSLMC, Texas Children's Hospital, Ben Taub General Hospital, and MEDVAMC.
The successful candidate should exhibit a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and collaborative practices. An established record of robust clinical experience and outcomes in both general surgery and surgical critical care is necessary, and a commitment to teaching general surgery residents and surgical critical care fellows. The candidate must be board-certified or board-eligible and qualify for medical licensure in Texas.
