Summary
The Center for Drug Discovery ( https://www.bcm.edu/research/centers/drug-discovery ) is a strategic research center at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, well-organized and enthusiastic part-time Research Assistant contributing to our research in the fields of drug metabolism and the study of blood-testis barrier (BTB). Our laboratory is well-equipped with advanced instruments such as Thermos UHPLC-Q Exactive MS, Orbitrap Exploris™ 120, Thermo Quintus (triple quadruple), and Imaging mass spectrometry (IMS, Bruker timsTOF fleX MALDI-2) to conduct LC-MS-metabolomics, pharmacokinetics, and spatial metabolomics. Work Schedule Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Job Duties
- Assist PI and postdocs recording and organizing data as well as standardize the laboratory protocols.
- Conducting sample preparation for LC-MS, data collection, and omic data analysis.
- Conducting cell culture and cytotoxicity assay.
- Maintain lab inventory, supplies, and support general lab maintenance and organization (e.g., avoiding duplicated supply ordering, chemical expiration and lacking fundamental supply.

Performs other job related duties as assigned (e.g., Conduct literature searching and prepare summaries)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
- Experience in laboratory research preferred.
- Experience in data analysis for LC-MS data.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently.
