Posting Summary
Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, this position is responsible for overseeing program assessment, customer care, and leadership within the department with a focus on engagement, programs and services. This role ensures operational excellence and supports the strategic direction set by the Director.

In collaboration with the Director, provide critical and strategic leadership to enhance program development, the residential experience, central administration functions, and the fulfillment of divisional and University goals. Serve as the principal advisor to the Director and provide leadership to the department on a day-to-day basis. Serve as the point of contact for the department when the Director is unavailable. Provide management and leadership for the department’s systems, processes, and policies that support more than 6,200 student beds on the residential campus. Work closely with departmental and campus partners to enhance the residential student experience, while assisting in managing 42 residence halls in 11 residential hall complexes.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master’s degree in education, student affairs or related field and seven to ten years’ experience to include progressively responsible leadership positions within student affairs, particularly residential life.
Effective leadership and management experience and data-driven decision making. Collaboration, problem-solving, and crisis management experience.
Effective written, verbal, and technological communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build positive and effective relationships with students, colleagues, senior leaders, and other internal and external partners.
Demonstrated multicultural competence as well as comfort and skill in working with diverse populations.
Demonstrated support and commitment to enhancing a diverse campus culture and the student experience.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of best practices related to living and learning programs and services designed to promote student success.
Anticipated Pay Range 105,000-115,000/year
Other Information
This position requires occasional work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours to respond to emergencies and attend University-wide programs as needed to support the residential experience.
