What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Year Round - Clerical Union Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!

The Clerical Intern will provide basic clerical support in an office environment assisting with general administrative duties, which may include document preparation, filing, making copies, data entry, ordering supplies, record keeping, and other related assignments. The position is represented and requires membership in the office of professional Employees & International Union (OPEIU).

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Perform document preparation
• Manage the calendars of members of management and others
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate, may be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve (12) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
• Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.

Qualifications We Desire:

• Experience or proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Existing Department of Energy (DOE) Q level clearance

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
