Position Summary
NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director, Educational Technology in the Learning Science Lab. The Assistant Director will establish and codify learning design standards and ensure they reflect the state of the art. Stay current with learning design and instructional technology theory and practice as input to evolving standards. Oversee adherence to established standards in all assets produced and services provided, and make recommendations to faculty and programs within the Learning Science Lab. Evaluate learning technology used by faculty and Stern programs. Make recommendations, lead tool development and adoption, and design and conduct necessary training. Oversee Stern's Faculty Consultation program. Develop and implement faculty, department, and program engagement and outreach strategies. Lead the development of select online and hybrid courses, working collaboratively with faculty, educational technologists, and media production.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (a Master's Degree in instructional design, education, or a related field is preferred). 3+ years relevant experience designing for education using major authoring tools and managing technical projects with diverse groups of people at different levels, with competing interests, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 3+ years of progressively responsible instructional design/educational technology experience, an understanding of current and emerging teaching and learning pedagogies and modalities used in higher education, and experience with course construction and integrating technology into teaching and learning initiatives is preferred.



Knowledge of instructional design theories and methodologies, and the ability to apply them, knowledge of user interface design principles and applications, and the ability to communicate with and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and members of the community in one-to-one and group settings is required. Strong personal initiative, the ability to work reliably and independently with minimal supervision, and excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical individuals is also essential.

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $73,636.38 to USD $90,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
