The LEAP Program is a bachelor's degree program specifically designed for current and former professional dancers, with students in California, and New York.

Position Description

The LEAP Program seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach:

LEAP 250, Looking Outward
Sundays 4:00-7:00PM in the Fall 2024 term

This course will be conducted online through Zoom and Canvas.

In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to hold regular virtual office hours (a minimum of three hours a week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom. Instructors are also expected to participate in faculty development including workshops, class observations, and syllabus collaboration. Seminar 250 Looking Outward

Employing and building upon the strategies of critical thinking, critical reading, and shared inquiry learned in the first seminar, in this seminar students will consider questions such as: What is a good society? What is a person's place in the world?


Qualifications:
Qualifications - Required

• 
  An advanced degree in an academic discipline is required (MA, MS, or other); Doctorate or other terminal degree preferred
  
• 
  Teaching experience with adult learners/non-traditional undergraduate student populations
  
• 
  Teaching experience with distance learning pedagogy including proficiency with synchronous and asynchronous classroom participation, assignments and student learning assessment
  
• 
  Experience with and commitment to student-centered teaching and discussion-style pedagogies
  

Qualifications - Preferred

• 
  Successful candidates must be able to engage and support students of color, women and people outside of the gender binary, returning students, and other underrepresented groups, and will be interested in participating in initiatives that aim to increase equity and inclusivity in the educational endeavor. Preference will be given to those applicants with experience and/or expertise relevant to fostering inclusive dialogue across differences of culture, race, ability, gender, and sexuality.

Salary: $7,447 - $10,308 depending on qualifications.

The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
