Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Consults with subject matter experts to share standardized best practices for system health through metrics observability, alerting, and dashboarding.
Collaborate with IT professionals across the University system to identify, establish, and measure service level agreements (SLA), service level indicators (SLI), and service level objectives (SLO).
Identify manual or repetitive tasks and automate them.
Implement consistent incident classification by prioritizing SLO’s impact and error budget consumption.
Design, plan, build, and implement monitoring tools and dashboards that promote visibility, transparency, and early detection in a complex technical environment.
Communicate complex technical concepts, problems, and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Actively contribute to Agile and Scrum practices utilized by team members and make recommendations.
Create and review documentation used to document infrastructure support methods, procedures, and configuration.
Participate in regular on-call rotation as defined by team needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

BA/BS plus at least two years of experience, or master's degree.
Experience consulting with IT subject matter experts and service owners to help set and define KPIs (SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets) for service reliability.
Experience with Splunk queries, creating and publishing dashboards.
Experience with software development, automation, or infrastructure as code
Demonstrated experience in IT process improvement.
Experience capturing technical requirements and turning into deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:

SAFe, Lean, or Agile experience.
Experience and proficiency with multiple operating systems and other Infrastructure technologies (networks, storage, hybrid cloud, etc).
Strong understanding of system health, resilience, and disaster recovery compliance reporting needs.
Demonstrate commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Able to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment.
ITIL Foundations experience.
