Position Summary:

The College of Business and Economic Development at Arkansas Tech University has a faculty opening for a full-time instructor to teach undergraduate courses in business data analytics and related areas with a starting date of January 2025. The School of Business is accredited by AACSB-International and offers bachelor's degrees with majors in Accounting, Business Data Analytics, Finance, Management, Health Information Management, and Digital Marketing, as well as offering an MBA program and a Master of Science in Health Informatics. Arkansas Tech offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and life insurance and participation in TIAA-CREF retirement plans. The typical full-time course load is 24 credit hours/academic year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and teach undergraduate courses in the School of Business, both on campus and in virtual modalities.

Effectively advise students.

Engage students in high impact learning practices on campus, off campus, and in virtual modalities.

Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community, and state, both on campus and through other avenues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge - understanding of academic discipline and teaching pedagogy, using a wide range of software and applied techniques related to statistics and data analytics;

Skills - organization, leadership, communication;

Abilities - responsive, collegial

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate degree (or completion prior to June 30, 2025) in business analytics, information systems, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Excellent oral & written communication skills.

Programming and database skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree from an AACSB- or ABET-accredited institution.

Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate students.

Experience with online instruction.

Record of scholarly activity and research interests in business data analytics.

Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.

Professional experience relating to business data analytics.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

The location of this position is on the Russellville Campus of ATU, with an office located in Rothwell Hall.

This position will teach in both online and traditional modalities on a regular basis and will interact with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in a variety of campus and online settings.

The person in this position must be able to utilize computer, phone, and other electronic devices.
