Responsibilities
The OMRF Facility Services department is seeking a part-time electrician (temporary). This individual will:
-Be responsible for all electrical work at the Foundation, including assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, circuits, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
-Test electrical systems and circuits using devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety and compatibility.
-Design, plan, and schedule electrical work and the installation of wiring for new equipment and renovation projects based on job specifications and local codes.
-Oversee electrical work to ensure it meets codes and quality standards.
-Ensure co-workers follow safety rules and regulations.
-Inspect and test electrical equipment and circuits, including distribution panels, transformers, controls, and generators, to identify hazards or defects and determine the need for repairs.
-Diagnose and fix malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools.
-Stay updated on local, state, and national electrical codes and apply new knowledge to the job.
-Maintain a current electrician’s license to meet government regulations.
-Manage inventory levels of materials and supplies and place orders for necessary parts.
-Install and terminate communication cables.
-Operate, maintain, and test emergency generators, transfer switches, and fire alarm systems.
-Complete work orders and preventive maintenance sheets, detailing time, materials used, and comments. Submit reports to management daily, weekly, and monthly.
-Maintain a safe work environment by following safety rules and federal regulations.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Graduate of a trade school or technical school and 5 years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience. Current Oklahoma Electrician’s license required. Advanced knowledge of voltage or current meters, the danger of electricity and how to prevent accidents. Advanced knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in electrical installation or repair. Basic knowledge of computers.
