Rider University invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President of Advancement within the Division of University Advancement. Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement, the Associate Vice President (AVP) is a member of the senior Advancement team and a thought leader and partner across the organization. In doing so, the AVP collaborates regularly with University and Academic leadership. The AVP is responsible for developing overall strategies to ensure that the team maximizes philanthropic support for Rider University’s priorities aligned with the Transforming Live, Transforming Students comprehensive campaign. Emphasis will be placed on fundraising, team building, training and professional development, and oversight and management to ensure progress against fundraising goals.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated 6+ years of related experience
  • Demonstrated strong development credentials with campaign leadership/management experience; including a proven track record of building and developing a high-level portfolio
  • Demonstrated success as an experienced fundraiser, including management of major gift prospects
  • Demonstrated successful track record of managing a fundraising team
  • Demonstrated effective experience in enlisting and interacting with senior-level leadership volunteers and committees
  • Entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving, with demonstrated success in exceeding goals
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
