Senior Institutional Effectiveness Analyst

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Department of Information Technology Services welcomes applications for the position of Senior Institutional Effectiveness Analyst.

Salary Range

$79,000.00 depending on qualifications

Essential Functions

 

The Senior Institutional Effectiveness Analyst provides advanced analytical and technical support for the University's institutional-effectiveness, assessment, program-review, accreditation, and continuous-improvement activities. The position analyzes quantitative and qualitative evidence, reviews assessment documentation, supports assessment-management workflows, prepares decision-support reports and dashboards, and advises academic and administrative units within established University frameworks. Working with Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, faculty, staff, and designated data owners, the position strengthens the use of evidence in planning and improvement. Final assessment standards, accreditation interpretations, institutional policy, and resource decisions remain with designated University authorities.
Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment Analysis
1. Analyze quantitative and qualitative institutional, assessment, survey, program, and outcome data using methods appropriate to higher-education evaluation and institutional decision support.
2. Support the design and implementation of assessment plans, measures, benchmarks, surveys, and related tools for educational programs and administrative, academic-support, and student-support units.
3. Review assessment plans and reports for completeness, consistency, and alignment with established requirements; summarize findings, identify gaps or risks, and recommend follow-up.
4. Serve as an advanced functional user of the assessment-management platform, supporting user access, routine configuration, reporting, data-quality review, documentation, and workflow follow-up.
Program Review and Accreditation Support
5. Support academic program review by compiling and validating evidence, preparing analyses, maintaining status tracking, and monitoring assigned follow-up and improvement actions.
6. Organize and analyze evidence for institutional and programmatic accreditation; prepare analytical summaries and draft supporting materials; and track assigned requirements and deadlines.
7. Research applicable assessment and accreditation expectations and escalate novel, disputed, or policy-level interpretations to designated University authorities.
Reporting, Surveys, and Decision Support
8. Design, administer, analyze, and report institutional surveys and other evidence-gathering activities in collaboration with campus partners.
9. Prepare recurring and ad hoc institutional-effectiveness reports, dashboards, summaries, and presentations that identify strengths, gaps, trends, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement.
10. Coordinate data validation with Institutional Research and designated data owners so that assessment, program-review, and accreditation evidence is accurate, traceable, timely, and appropriately retained.
Consultation and Institutional Coordination
11. Provide technical guidance, written resources, and routine training to faculty, staff, administrators, and assessment coordinators on assessment methods, reporting expectations, systems, data interpretation, and use of results.
12. Build and maintain collaborative relationships across the University to support assessment, accreditation, program review, reporting, and continuous-improvement activities.
13. Monitor developments in assessment practice, institutional-effectiveness methods, accreditation expectations, analytical tools, and relevant technology, and recommend improvements to procedures, reports, resources, or training.

Required Qualifications

 
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in higher education, education, institutional research, assessment and evaluation, statistics, public administration, social sciences, or a related field.
2. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in institutional effectiveness, outcomes assessment, institutional research, program evaluation, educational research, accreditation support, or a related higher-education function.
3. Experience applying qualitative and quantitative research, assessment, survey, or program-evaluation methods and preparing analytical reports for academic or administrative audiences.
4. Experience using Microsoft Excel and at least one statistical, business-intelligence, survey, assessment-management, database, or data-visualization application.

Preferred Qualifications

 
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
2. Experience with Watermark, Nuventive, Qualtrics, PeopleSoft, Power BI, Tableau, SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, or comparable assessment, survey, student-information, statistical, or visualization tools.
3. Experience supporting SACSCOC, programmatic accreditation, academic program review, or institution-wide assessment.
4. Experience preparing guidance materials or delivering training or consultation related to assessment, reporting, data interpretation, or institutional effectiveness.
5. Strong written communication, analytical, organizational, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.


Standard Working Conditions

1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
