Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Allergy & Immunology, is seeking an accomplished and experienced Assistant Professor to serve as Medical Director and lead the operations of the CIL Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a physician leader to shape laboratory strategy, oversee clinical and operational excellence, and contribute to the continued growth and advancement of the program.
Job Duties:
- Provide clinical, scientific, and operational leadership for CIL Laboratory services.
- Oversee laboratory quality, workflow, staffing, and day-to-day operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional standards.
- Provide clinical consultation and interpretation of complex laboratory results.
- Lead development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory tests and services.
- Collaborate with Allergy & Immunology faculty and clinical teams to support patient care.
- Mentor and develop laboratory staff and trainees.
- Monitor performance, quality metrics, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support research, education, and academic initiatives.
- Partner with departmental leadership on strategic growth and expansion of CIL Laboratory capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD/DO or equivalent
- Licensed by the Texas Medical Board
- Board certified/eligible in Allergy & Immunology
