Job Description
Summary
The coding supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and operational oversight of our medical coding team. This position ensures coding accuracy, quality, productivity and compliance among the coding team. The supervisor manages the staff in day to day operations.
Job Duties
- Supervise and support medical coders, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor coding productivity, quality, and accuracy standards
- Manage staff schedules, time-off requests, holiday coverage and attendance to ensure adequate staffing levels and uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor employee attendance, approve leave requests, and coordinate workload distribution to maintain productivity and service level expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Surgical Abstracting Experience.
