Respiratory therapists partner closely with nurses, physicians, and specialists to make a real impact every day while practicing at the top of your license. In this role, you will assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions, perform advanced cardiopulmonary evaluations, deliver lifesaving therapies, manage ventilators and airways, and respond to critical situations. A caregiver in this position workseveningsfrom3:00PM – 11:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide assessment, treatment,careand evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
Implement andmonitorpatient care plans.
Assess patients for theappropriate typeand frequency of treatment and develop,implementandmonitorpatient care plans.
Monitor,recordand communicate patients’ conditions.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications andtreatmentsand perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduateof an accredited Respiratory TherapyProgram
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License from Ohio Medical Board
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certificationwhenappropriate forsite
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Prior experience inCriticalCareand/or performing invasive procedures
Neonatal/pediatric experiencewhenappropriate forsite
Bachelor’sDegree
Physical Requirements:
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $36.75
Maximum hourly: $48.55
