Housing and Residence Life creates a transformational on-campus experience for over 1,200 residents. For the on-campus residents, we offer a variety of living environments in studios, apartments, and single- and double-occupancy rooms. Our experienced staff seeks to provide residents with intellectual, social, cultural, and recreational experiences to enhance the residents' time at the university and to facilitate academic success and individual growth. Living in a residence hall is a unique experience that provides opportunities to meet new people and to explore new ideas and ways of relating to others. Residence hall living is a vital part of the educational experience in which residents are encouraged to assume individual and group responsibility.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Housing Operations Coordinator facilitates the planning and implementation of operational processes for 1600 bed spaces. This role contributes to the long- and short-range occupancy and revenue goals for Housing and Residence Life. The role supervises the overall management of the summer housing process, including contract development, billing, and room assignments. The Housing Operations Coordinator is responsible for implementing and evaluating systems and processes that are student-centered, reflect institutional thinking, support the formation of community, foster student retention, and promote student success.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
HOUSING OPERATIONS AND OCCUPANCY MANAGEMENT: Work closely with Assignments Coordinator to assign and reassign students based on housing process, needs, requests, and other factors. Manage transitional housing processes to include early arrivals, summer transition, and late stays. Work with campus partners to determine housing needs based on incoming first-year students, transfer students, and graduate/professional students. Serve as primary contact for housing accommodations. Work with the Office of Testing and Disability Services to meet accommodative housing needs. Work with the Dean of Students/Director of Housing and Residence Life on housing adjustment requests. Act as primary contact for Lock Shop and Environmental Health and Safety requests. Oversee the management of the key and lock inventory process for all University properties. Provides all housing information to the JagCard office related to access management for all housing communities. Provide a high level of customer service for all constituents. Respond to housing concerns from students and families. Produce accurate occupancy and other housing-related reports on a weekly or as-needed basis.
HOUSING OPERATIONS AND OCCUPANCY MANAGEMENT: Process all housing cancellations and withdrawals. Works with the Business Operations Specialist on housing credits and refunds. Manage all housing and room charges within StarRez. Serve as the liaison for groups wanting to contract for summer occupancy and manage summer conferences. Manage the Health and Safety Inspection Process, including training the Residence Life Coordinators on the process and working with Environmental Health Services on scheduling inspections.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Work with Housing and Residence Life team members to develop and reinforce professional development plans, including department and individual goals related to the area of responsibility; provide clear, comprehensive, and timely performance feedback on a regular basis. Collaborate with the leadership team to plan and implement intentional and ongoing staff training and development opportunities. Participate in departmental staffing efforts, including inclusive, intentional, and comprehensive recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training processes.
DEPARTMENTAL ENGAGEMENT: Contribute to and participate in strategic planning, department goal setting, data/assessment efforts, and determining community staffing priorities and initiatives. Communicate trends, concerns, and achievements regularly with the supervisor and the leadership team. Assist with special projects and serve as a supportive team member within the department and university. Participating in university, divisional, and departmental trainings and developmental activities as needed.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and general knowledge and skills in occupancy management with a foundational knowledge of student affairs administration, with two years of experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Knowledge of student housing systems and processes.

Pay Band: B6
Salary: $43,888/annually - $49,000/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
