Job Description
Summary
The Intern/Research Aide will support ongoing experimental research initiatives within Baylor College of Medicine by actively participating in laboratory-based projects. This role provides hands-on experience in conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to scientific research objectives. The position offers structured training in basic laboratory techniques and research methodologies, with an emphasis on connecting academic knowledge to real-world applications.The intern will assist with operating laboratory equipment (training provided), documenting experimental procedures with accuracy and attention to detail, and collecting and organizing imaging and cell culture data. Additional responsibilities include supporting senior faculty-led research activities and maintaining organized research records.This opportunity is designed to build foundational laboratory competencies, strengthen analytical and critical thinking skills, and prepare students for advanced education or careers in biomedical research, including MD or PhD pathways. The role typically requires a commitment of approximately 10–15 hours per week and may be limited to a summer term.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.

- Possess an interest in basic scientific or medical fields.
