Cleveland State University is launching a major technology transformation that will modernize how we support our students, faculty, and staff. As part of this effort, CSU is transitioning from PeopleSoft HCM to Workday—a unified, modern ERP system that will streamline processes, strengthen data integrity, and elevate the HR experience across CSU’s campus. This position is a hybrid role with optional 1-2 days WFH per University guidelines, after initial training period. Relocation is not available for this position.
This transformation directly supports CSU’s HR pillars—Project Management, Financial Management, Relationship Management, and Communication Management. The Senior HRIS Analyst will play a key role in advancing these pillars by driving structured project execution, strengthening data governance and reporting, building strong cross‑campus partnerships, and ensuring clear, consistent communication throughout the transition.

Job Summary
Plays a critical role in supporting the transition from PeopleSoft HCM to Workday, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and integrity of HR data throughout and after the transformation. This position serves as a key liaison between HR, IS&T, and functional stakeholders, while also providing indirect oversight of the HR Data Center during the transition to a new operating model. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in human resources, business, information technology, or related field.
Five (5) years of HRIS or related experience.
Experience with Workday or PeopleSoft HCM.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher Education Experience
Other non-technical work experience in a core HR functional area
Experience in large-scale HCM transformation or digital HR initiatives
Knowledge of Workday modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas and lookup functions.
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Foundational understanding of HR processes and data structures.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Ability to follow established processes and documentation.
