Job Summary
The Infection Prevention Analyst (IPA) sets a professional example both within the department and as a representative of the department throughout the enterprise. A successful candidate is able to successfully work both as a team member as well as independently with mentor and/or leadership involvement as appropriate. IPAs collect, review and analyze surveillance data, maintain infection prevention databases and dashboards, act as a liaison with the health departments, and assists Infection Preventionists with investigations.
Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are non-exempt.
Responsibilities*
50% Collect, assess, review and analyze surveillance data using various surveillance systems
20% Maintain records and update databases and dashboards
10% Work with Infection Preventionists to conduct activities related to exposures of patients and employees of communicable diseases
5% Identify, notify and provide data analysis using data tools and statistics to support Infection Preventionists investigating clusters or outbreaks.
5% Other duties as assigned, including outbreak investigations and special projects.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field. MPH preferred
Ability to reliably attend virtual and in-person meetings.
Ability to prioritize work assignments and time management.
Organize time effectively.
Work independently as well as a member of a team.
Report generating skills
Experience in data analysis and/or statistical analysis
Desired Qualifications*
MPH, MS, or equivalent
Tableau, SAS or other data management/ data visualization software experience
