Summary

Performs routine laboratory work following established procedures and records results. Work in the lab starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. with expectation for weekend coverage to be available from 7-9am in case a sick mouse is identified by the center for comparative medicine team. The Laboratory Helper is expected to work ~8 hours a week and to work ~10 weekends a year checking on mice and addressing issues for sick mice with remote supervision.

Job Duties

Clean laboratory equipment
Provide care to mouse colonies, identify sick mice
Assist with tissue harvest from mice
Evaluate engraftment of leukemia samples in mice
Conduct experiments
Keep meticulous documentation of laboratory work performed
Adhere to laboratory protocols and maintain certifications to work in the lab
Perform other job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED
No experience required

Preferred Qualifications

Prior lab work experience
