The Communication Department seeks to hire a per-course faculty member to teach MP 100, Multimedia Writing, in the Spring of 2025.
Wednesdays, 9:15-11:45am
This course will be taught in person, on campus.
Course Description: This course introduces students to basic digital media production tools and techniques, as well as organized media production workflows. It is a hands-on class that places students in a variety of different crew roles in order to develop effective communication and collaboration skills. Students learn basic videography and sound recording principles using their smartphones, then use increasingly professional equipment - DSLRs, video cameras - as the semester progresses. Students learn picture, sound and color editing techniques in iMovie, as well as the Adobe Premiere editing suite.
Qualifications:
Requirements: MFA degree in film, video, audio or media production, as well as previous collegiate teaching experience.
Candidates must reside in California.
Salary: $2,482 - $3,436 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
