As the Director of Admissions for the Full-Time MBA Program, you will serve as a key leader with a highly visible role both within the school and externally. You will guide the vision and operations of the Admissions team, assessing market conditions and developing strategic recruiting plans to attract a diverse and highly talented pool of prospective students.
You will report to the Managing Director for the Full-time MBA Program. This role is hybrid, requiring work on-site in Ann Arbor, Michigan. May work evenings and weekends. Responsibilities*
Collaborate with leaders and the admissions team to plan the strategic and operational aspects of the admissions cycle to ensure a smooth and successful process. Make recommendations for student admissions, scholarships and awards.
Lead operations including application development and systems evaluation.
Conduct regular competitive intelligence, analyze global trends, key indicators, market research and rankings to inform the team's work.
Build relationships across the campus and with external stakeholders to support program admissions.
Be accountable for the Admissions team's performance and engagement, manage daily operations and model a collaborative, learning-oriented and high-performance culture.
Select, manage, develop, mentor and evaluate direct reports.
Prepare budgets, manage expenses and scholarship funds, and be a steward of our financial resources.
Represent our programs internally and externally in communications, at events and across the enterprise.
In partnership with leadership, set the strategic direction including developing and implementing new admissions projects.
Collaborate with our marketing team to create and execute innovative recruitment strategies.
Measure the effectiveness of marketing and admissions strategies. Refine and adjust strategic approaches based on analyzing outcomes against goals.
Required Qualifications*
Master's degree (MBA or related field preferred); Bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience may be considered.
8+ years of progressive experience in admissions, recruitment, marketing, sales, or a similar external stakeholder-facing role within higher education or a comparable industry.
3+ years leadership and supervisory experience managing teams or complex service-oriented organizations.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and execution, particularly in admissions or recruitment environments.
Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and fiscal operations.
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce and CollegeNet preferred), student administration databases, and standard office productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Office, Google Suite).
Experience building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders (e.g. students, alumni, faculty, staff, and external partners) to advance admissions or enrollment initiatives.
Professional experience leading complex projects or initiatives with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, service-oriented setting.
Experience developing or contributing to initiatives that promote community, culture and belonging within an academic or organizational setting.
