The Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting in the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics (JCBE) invites qualified candidates to submit applications for Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Business Analytics. This is a 9-month tenure-track position for assistant or associate professors, and a 9-month non-tenure-track position for instructors, with a start date of August 16, 2026. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate business analytics courses and potentially other statistics or business courses relevant to disciplinary expertise in in-person, online, and hybrid formats.

The AACSB accredited Johnson College of Business and Economics currently awards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Economics/Finance, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The College also offers minors in Business Administration, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Economics as well as a dual program with Landshut University in Germany. The Johnson College is located in a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility in downtown Spartanburg. Required Education and Experience
Masters degree for an instructor-level position, or a Ph.D./DBA for tenure track position, in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or related field is required by the start date of the appointment. ABD candidates with a planned completion date by August 15, 2026 are welcome to apply.
To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must meet the requirements for Assistant
Professor, have at least five years of relevant experience after the completion of the terminal degree, and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service that meets the College’s criteria for promotion, to include at least three publications in indexed journals within the last five years. A successful background check is required.
