Job Description

When was the last time you changed the world?

In Virginia Tech’s Division of Student Affairs, that’s exactly what we’re doing every day—guiding, nurturing, and supporting students as they learn and grow into the leaders and world-changers of today and tomorrow.

We’re currently searching for a Coordinator for ExperienceVT to join our Residential Well-being team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re committed to assisting residential students to find meaningful engagement, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Residential Well-being team; a department centered on creating intentional residential communities that are characterized by belonging, flourishing, compassion for self and others, and meaningful engagement.
2) You’ll be reporting to a Managing Director in Residential Well-being and an Associate Director in Student Engagement & Campus Life, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.
3) You’ll be responsible for helping residential students have a meaningful Virginia Tech experience by identifying opportunities to bring programs, activities, and resources into the residential community, as well as opportunities to take residential students to VT and community experiences outside the residence hall.
4) You'll build individual relationships with students by getting to know who they are and how they want to be involved on campus, assisting them as they connect to people, places, and their passions.
5) You'll supervise a team of approximately 15-25 Residential Well-being Student Leaders for ExperienceVT who live and work in the residence halls to ensure that every student is engaged.
6) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $44,000 - $46,000 with an on-campus apartment or $50,000 - $52,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:
1) THE UNIVERSITY: Virginia Tech as an employer is committed to developing well-rounded employees who are active members of the university community as well as the community at-large. From comprehensive insurance plans to tuition assistance, Virginia Tech offers employees a variety of benefits and perks to help team members build a fuller and more balanced life.
2) THE DIVISION: For our students and ourselves, the Division of Student Affairs believes that changing the world requires courageous leadership and commitment to curiosity, integrity, civility, and service to others. Our culture is defined by a commitment to our Aspirations for Student Learning.
3) THE TEAM: Students come first in Residential Well-being, and we’ve refocused structures, functions, roles, and processes with that in mind. To start, we separated housing functions to ensure that our Residential Well-being team can focus solely on fostering community, building relationships, and supporting students’ well-being and success, while working collaboratively with colleagues in housing and facilities. And in our new model, professional staff and student leaders are assigned to a group of students, rather than to buildings. These changes may sound small, but they underscore philosophical transformation at the heart of Residential Well-being
