Men's Tennis Assistant Coach

Assisting with all aspects of the College's NCAA D1 Men's Tennis Program, with a focus on the on and off court coaching of individual and team practice sessions; attendance of all home and away matches; assistance with recruiting, scheduling, working within the program's budget, promoting an atmosphere of academic excellence, and ensuring compliance with NCAA, WCC and SMC rules and regulations. Development and maintenance of strong, collaborative relationships with administrators, coaches, professors and other relevant staff at the College. Duties may also include assistance with fund-raising and marketing of the team on campus and in the local community.
Requirements
- Team Development: Writing training plans, working with injured athletes, setting up competition schedules, being at actual practices and staying NCAA compliant in these duties.
- Match Day Coaching: Prepare team to perform at maximum level in every dual match.
- Recruiting: Establishing relationships with potential recruits, setting up visits, conducting visits, working with financial aid and awarding scholarships.
- Supporting athletes in pursuit in academic excellence
- Supporting head coach in fund-raising opportunities
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with fellow coaches and admin. staff
- Various Administrative Duties: Including but not limited to ensuring team has all necessary equipment throughout the year and assisting with travel arrangements.
Qualifications:
Education: REQUIRED: 4 year Degree PREFERRED: BA/BS
Experience: 3-5 years of coaching experience
Other Requirements: Travel, weekend/evening work
