Job Summary
The Division of Extension and Engagement is seeking a Digital Marketing Coordinator for the division’s Communications and Marketing team. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The primary work location for this position is the division’s Communications and Marketing office on OSU’s campus in Corvallis, Oregon. This position is expected to work onsite in Corvallis at least three (3) days per week.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator is a team member of the Division of Extension and Engagement’s Communications and Marketing Unit, reporting to the Assistant Director for Communications and Marketing.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator produces and manages digital content that showcases and connects people with the OSU Extension Service and the university’s community engagement efforts. This highly collaborative role involves assisting with implementation of digital marketing strategies, content creation, and audience engagement efforts across web, social, e-newsletter and other digital platforms. The coordinator writes, edits, designs, creates multimedia, publishes content and coordinates projects to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital content to broad and diverse populations as part of the division’s overall communication and marketing strategies.

This position contributes to efforts to ensure content and related strategies are developed in an accessible, inclusive, equitable and socially just manner, including compliance with Civil Rights and Language/Visual Access regulations. This role involves close collaboration with the division’s digital marketing specialist, content strategist and CRM developer, as well as coordination with unit colleagues, division employees and communications colleagues at OSU.

The division has built the capacity and expectation for employees to use digital communications and technologies in the modern-day workplace. This reflects our demonstrable commitment to using digital communications tools and changing technologies as a primary way to raise Oregonian’s awareness of and engagement with our organization, programs and resources. These activities will be included in the annual plan of work, impact statements and summary of accomplishments/achievements.

About the division’s communications and marketing unit:
This unit operates as an integrated communications and marketing team in support of the Division of Extension and Engagement and the statewide OSU Extension Service. The team collaborates with division leadership and colleagues to create educational, engaging and brand-aligned communications that increase awareness, access and support among external audiences. This includes educational publishing; news and media relations; marketing and branding; design and multimedia; web and content strategy; and executive, public affairs and internal communication efforts. The team also provides support, consultation and training for division employees in these areas. In addition, the team provides collaborative leadership for innovative and effective use of educational and communication technologies.

Key Responsibilities
70% – Digital marketing content development and delivery
Collaborates with assistant director and colleagues to ensure digital marketing strategies and content are culturally inclusive, socially just and compliant with university and division brand and style guidelines and accessibility requirements.
Assists in the development and execution of the division’s social media, digital marketing, and digital engagement strategies and campaigns.
Serves as unit and division lead for supported e-newsletter/email marketing platforms. This includes coordination of templates, guidelines and support for others to use these tools effectively and support delivery of high-quality, professional content.
Manages content and publication for e-newsletters/email marketing campaigns produced by the unit. This includes internal division newsletters, marketing campaign communications, and centrally produced topical or audience-specific newsletters for external audiences.
Serves as backup administrator on the division’s flagship social accounts. This includes assisting with creating and scheduling social media posts for the division’s flagship accounts, ensuring timely and engaging content delivery, and assisting with monitoring social media channels for relevant news and potential issues and managing comments.
Creates, monitors, updates and curates OSU Extension website landing pages (e.g., topics, campaigns).
Supports creation of digital and content marketing materials and templates, including graphics, photos, videos, and written content for campaigns and ongoing marketing efforts.
Monitors and reports on relevant analytics to assess and inform digital marketing efforts.
Contributes to a safe, welcoming and respectful learning and workplace environment

20% – Content management and coordination
Serves as unit lead for our digital asset management platform, including user training and asset management (curation, archiving).
Collaborates with Extension educators (subject matter experts) and communication colleagues to conceptualize and produce content for diverse and specific audiences.
Applies and promotes best practices for digital marketing—including social media, newsletters, websites and accessibility—including active participation in communities of practice and peer networks.
Contributes communications and marketing expertise as a member of interdisciplinary project teams.
Coordinates own projects, including developing plans and schedules, tracking progress and deadlines and coordinating with team members (within and beyond the unit).
Uses software programs to edit and create content, publish online content, manage and use electronic files and digital assets, and work collaboratively.
Uses unit’s standard project management tools and processes to support efficient internal work.

5% – Professional development and service
Engages in opportunities to build knowledge and skills in areas relevant to position duties. This includes building skills to effectively use digital technologies and to advance access and inclusion through communications and marketing work.
Provides communications advice, training and consultation to division employees. This occurs through workshops, webinars, articles, individual instruction and other appropriate methods.
Serves and advances the profession through active membership, leadership and participation in relevant professional organizations, workshops, meetings and award and recognition programs.
Provides service to OSU and the land-grant system by working on unit, division, university, regional and national committees and projects.

5% – Other
Performs other duties and projects, as assigned.
Completes the division’s civil rights training session(s).
Ensures the incorporation of the appropriate civil rights requirements in content creation and publication.
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a field relevant to duties outlined in the position description.
Professional experience in marketing or communications.
Experience publishing content on digital platforms, such as websites, newsletters or social media.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (for example, Meta Business Suite, Canva, Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Google Analytics).
General knowledge of visual identity principles, editorial style and brand guidelines and how to apply them.
General knowledge and ability to use computers, including proficiency with professional office software and collaborative work platforms.
Ability to learn and use multiple forms of digital communication tools and systems in a changing technological environment.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate successfully with a broad and diverse audience.
Demonstrated skill in building and sustaining collaborative, professional relationships.
Capable of providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

What We Would Like You to Have
Professional development or certification in digital marketing platforms or tools.
Experience editing and reviewing content to meet editorial and design standards.
Experience creating content that meets digital accessibility requirements.
Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce, Slate or HubSpot.
Experience using advanced/professional creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Lightroom, etc.).
Experience publishing website content in the Drupal CMS (version 10 or higher).
Familiarity with A/B testing and performance optimization techniques.
Previous involvement in digital marketing for events, campaigns, or product launches.
Experience with photography and/or videography, including basic photo and/or video editing.
Bilingual and/or biliterate (especially Spanish/English).
