The Clinical Placement and Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with School of Nursing leadership, faculty, staff, and students to establish and expand clinical placements for students. This position also works collaboratively with healthcare facilities, healthcare providers, and preceptors to arrange student placement and meet baccalaureate and graduate programs’ clinical outcomes and to ensure a variety of clinical learning experiences.

Job Function:

The Clinical Placement and Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with School of Nursing leadership, faculty, staff, and students to establish and expand clinical placements for students. This position also works collaboratively with healthcare facilities, healthcare providers, and preceptors to arrange student placement and meet baccalaureate and graduate programs’ clinical outcomes and to ensure a variety of clinical learning experiences.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience OR four additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education:

A Health Professions degree.

One year of related experience.

Additional years of related experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage clinical placements of baccalaureate and graduate students in collaboration with the Program Directors and healthcare/community partners to ensure appropriate clinical learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Program Director to develop and deliver onboarding/orientation for preceptors, including clear outcomes and expectations for students and preceptors.
  • Collaborate with the Director and the Graduate Programs Director for clinical site procurement.
  • Manage health clearance and compliance for students enrolled in nursing programs for clinical placement. Notify students and faculty when students are out of compliance.
  • Assist students with their purchase of compliance systems and orient/train students on systems (CORE, American Data Bank, CB Bridges).
  • Serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Baccalaureate and Graduate Curriculum Committees. Serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Graduate Admission and Progression Committee.
  • Coordinate and manage student orientations in collaboration with the Program Directors. Work with the Programs Directors to develop and update content for student orientation
  • Serve as the School of Nursing liaison to clinical agencies for security, EMR, and badge access (undergraduate program). This includes submitting requests for access for each student and providing a list to faculty of login information prior to the start of the semester. This includes managing and disabling access and assisting students when they encounter issues with access.
  • Collaborate and participate with the Division of Online and Strategic Learning (DOSL) in maintaining and expanding State Authorizations. This includes providing DOSL with programmatic information, policies, and procedures needed as they work to maintain and expand authorizations for the nursing online graduate programs.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Programs Director and DOSL to promote the online nursing programs through outreach and relationship-building with clinical partners. This may require attending outreach events for promotion and marketing.
  • Collaborate with the Graduate Program Coordinator to ensure documents submitted in CORE-ELMS are aligned with the required clinical placement workflow process. Collect and organize semesterly clinical site placement data and unit usage from BS faculty; provide documentation and information from CORE-ELMS, for ISBN, and accreditation reports.
  • Maintain course records (syllabi, calendars, clinical rotations, samples of student work) for School of Nursing programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
