Qualifications:
Psychobiology is the scientific study of the biology of behavior. It examines the neuroanatomical, neurochemical, and neurophysiological bases of behavior, including sensation, cognition, motivation, emotion, brain injury, and psychopathology. The course includes a laboratory component to reinforce and expand upon lecture material through the use of readings, computer models, and electrophysiology.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Fall term on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:05 to 1:10 pm (3 wu) and also includes a lab:
- PSYCH 310L-03 Lab: Monday from 1:30 - 4:30 pm (2.5 wu)
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of two hours per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Psychology, and undergraduate teaching experience in psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related field. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the lecture/lab or Psych 110/110L.
This position requires all coursework to be performed in the state of California.
The salary range for this position is $13,653 - $18,898 (5.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
