LC State invites applications for the position of Competitive Integrated Employment Specialist.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $49,743 - $58,000 (10-month appointment)
Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university
Required Qualifications:
• Experience delivering training and/or instruction to individuals with disabilities.
• Communication and networking experience.
• Using computer software and applications for online communication and research, word processing, developing spreadsheets, producing presentations, and generating reports.
• Experience working independently and in a self-directed manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in special education or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Experience in data analytics.
• Experience with inclusive post-secondary education programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience facilitating job training activities.
• Experience delivering training and/or coaching to support learners.
• Experience planning and delivering events.
• Ability to produce electronic promotional materials.
• Experience working with K-12 education programs.
• Familiarity with Special Education in Idaho.
• Familiarity with Federal Laws and Policy regarding Special Education.
• Familiarity with Lewis-Clark State College.
• Experience in using academic data to impact instruction and school systems thinking and planning.
Responsibilities:
• Working in collaboration with SPARC and Teacher Education & Mathematics Division (TEAM).
• Leading the SPARC Job Training Program.
• Arranging and facilitating work internship placements.
• Developing and adapting programmatic materials.
• Support and delivering training to employment internship partners.
• Working with ECLIPSE Grant staff to improve services.
• Delivering direct instruction to SPARC students.
• Participating in professional development activities both individually and as a team.
• Leading efforts to deliver an annual Reverse Career Fair.
• Facilitating SPARC student mentorship opportunities.
• Supporting SPARC student success in college courses.
• Supervise Peer Mentor Job Coaches.
• Design and oversee training of Peer Job Coaches.
• Evaluate Peer Job Coach performance.
• Collaborate with other ECLIPSE Grant CIE Specialists at sister institutions (University of Idaho, Boise State University), and staff.
• Support inter-agency collaboration efforts (e.g., Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation).
• As requested, representing SPARC/ECLIPSE professionally on various councils, task forces, workgroups, and committees.
• Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
• Other duties as assigned.
