Food Service Assistant - Grill Cook

Position Overview & Responsibilities
The OMRF Research Cafe offers a convenient and welcoming space for employees and visitors to enjoy meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the workday. We're looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment, brings a friendly and customer-focused attitude, and takes pride in being efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing hot and cold food, including efficiently working the grill and charbroil station
• Performing detailed and general cleaning to maintain a safe, sanitary workspace
• Caring for and maintaining non-food inventory, supplies, and equipment
• Stocking supplies, running the cash register, and washing dishes as needed
• Assisting with menu planning, including daily and weekly specials
• Always maintaining a welcoming and customer service-oriented attitude
• Collaborating with colleagues and assisting other kitchen areas as appropriate
• Completing additional tasks assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food handling and kitchen skills.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, follow instructions, take initiative, and work without supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• A valid OKC Certified Food Service Operator Certificate is a plus
• 2 years of back-of-house or kitchen experience required

Work Hours

• Typically, Monday through Friday 7AM to 3PM.

Physical Demands

• This job will require some lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
